"Literary Treasure"

How I miss my father,
I wish he had not been
so tired
when I was
born.

Writing deposit slips and checks
I think of him.
He taught me how.
This is the form,
he must have said:
the way it is done.
I learned to see
bits of paper
as a way
to escape
the life he knew
and even in high school
had a savings
account.
He taught me
that telling the truth
did not always mean
a beating;
though many of my truths
must have grieved him
before the end.
How I miss my father!
He cooked like a person
dancing
in a yoga meditation
and craved the voluptuous
sharing
of good food.
Now I look and cook just like him:
my brain light;
tossing this and that
into the pot;
seasoning none of my life
the same way twice;happy to feed
whoever strays my way.
He would have grown
to admire
the woman I've become:
cooking,writing,chopping wood,
staring into the fire.
-Alice Walker
Well I barely got a chance to read this wonderful poem it is about this young girl that loves her father alot. She misses him now because he is not with her nomore. He also showed her how to cook, with love by him always dancing while he did some good food for her. Also she says that when she was born she had hoped her dad wasn't really tired. That probably means while her mother was giving birth he was to bussy working to provide food to her home. It reminds me of my father all he does is work,and more work. She has manys memorys of him,and so many different ways to remind herself of him too. She thinks of him writing deposit slips and checks always bussy. He also had a saving account in high school which many students don't have now on. That shows he loved to be perpared for life. He taught her alot of things one was always tell the true. My dad always tells me that I think some how this poem connects to my realtionship with me,and my dad. Now she thinks her father would admire her for what she is now. She cooks like him also chops wood starig at the fire. Probably if every father was like this every kid will have a better life.

"There Is Always A Time To Say Bye Forever"

I have heard a song called "Bye Bye" by Mariah Carey. Always when I hear it reminds me of my grandma or people that meant alot to me,and now they are not with me nomore. Sometimes it makes me cry because she sings this song with alot of feeling. Yes this song was a hit in the radio,and alot of people liked this song alot. This song is connected to my life because I have watched people just walk away from my life forever. I think this song reflects to everyones life. Some parts of this song are like when she sings "This is for my people who just lost somebody their best friend your man or your lady or their grandmothers. Then it says "Reach your hands up in the sky because we will never say bye bye". So it means that even though thoos people who meant alot to us will always be with us. Then it talks about how her grandma will always tuck her in the night on her bed. It is compared to me because my grandma use to always do that,and I loved her alot. But unfortally she aint with us nomore. Sometimes I rember her,and I live the moments we shared together. Then it says "I wish we would celebrate the holidays together",and you would be with me forever". But yeah i did wish that my grandma would stay with me forever. But i guess everyone has their time when they need to leave forever. But I know her soul will always be with me.
I read a book called "Scary Stories3",The author is Alvin schwartz. It is about like different stories in that same book. They are all scary stories,and yes they are intersting too. But some of them I liked them more then anothers. I love that book alot for example there is this story in the book called "The Picture In The Wall". It is about when this guy that drives a taxi. One day gets trapped in traffic on a rainny day. He sees a young pretty girl on the bus stop with an umbrella on her hand. So he like a gentle man offers himself to take her to her house,and the young pretty looking girl says. Well i don't have money how to pay you,and certainly my house. Is really far away by the moutains but if you wish to take me then it will be a pleasure. So then she gets inside the car they droved to her house. There the guy tells her will you wish me to come,and pick you up tomorrow so we kan go out to dinner?. She replies,and says yeah sure why not. So then she left the next day he went to her house,and she wasn't outside waiting for him. Like she said she will so he went to her house,and rang the door bell. An old lady came out ,and asked him who are you lookin for?. He said some young lady that lives her I dropped her off her last night but she didn't tell me her name. She was like come with me so they walked inside the big house,and she asked him by showing him a picture in the wall. Is that the young lady you camed,and leaved her last night?. He said yes it was her,and she told him with a sad look she died like about 80 years ago. She died in an bus stop waiting for the bus well a car ran her over. So the guy got freaked out,and he ran out the door. This is one of the cool stories in this book,and yes some of them are short,and some are long. I did enjoy reading this book because to me stuff that have to be about scary things I like,and enjoy them too.
